I am a former career newspaper reporter and editor who launched a solo career in 1997 and have since worked mainly as a freelance book editor, although I do some writing too.
Highlights of my journalism career were working as a political reporter at the Edmonton Journal and as an editor at The Globe and Mail for twelve years, where positions included assistant news editor, news editor and books editor.
Much of my freelance work has involved book editing, mainly for major Canadian publishing houses, but I also work with private author clients. Freelance writing clients have included newspapers and magazines.
I am a member of both Editors Canada and the Professional Editors Association of Vancouver Island (PEAVI).
